Spooky Stacks! Halloween 2023

Tuesday, October 31, 2023

Staff members + books = Halloween costumes this October 31.

Watch out! The infamous bank robber Bonnie Parker (Circulation Page Sophie Maize) is in the Library with Jeff Guinn's Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde.

Head of the Children's Library Randi Levy reunites us with the beloved brown bear Corduroy, created by Don Freeman.

Assistant Cataloger Cullen Gallagher is a big fan! with Monsters In the Movies:100 Years of Cinematic Nightmares by John Landis.

Cue those ominous horns for The Wolf (Assistant Circulation Supervisor Kirsten Carleton), with Chris Raschka's adaptation/illustration of Sergei Prokofiev's classic Peter and the Wolf.

Is this Cataloging and Metadata Librarian Alexa Van Gilder I see before me, modeling Shakespeare's Macbeth?

"Something something something...we win!" is the plan with fierce shapeshifter Nimona (Head of Events Sara Holliday), inspired by the outstanding graphic novel by N.D. Stevenson. (By the way, can a shark dance?)

Bestselling author Ann Patchett turns to picture books with Lambslide - and Children's & Young Adult Librarian Susan Vincent Molinaro is ready to join in the fun.

Robert Quackenbush's Miss Mallard is on the case in the person of Events Assistant Marialuisa Monda. Miss Mallard may need to ask for directions before she digs for disaster! (Our exhibition Quack! Quack! The Wonderful World of Robert Quackenbush is open to the public through the end of the year.)

A warm and cozy time in the pumpkin patch and the Members' Room with Bibliographic Assistant Leah Freeman and Zoe Hall's It's Pumpkin Time.

And our good friend Panda Witch spread sugary good cheer throughout the neighborhood!
