You can't read them
They aren't books
But that doesn't mean they don't have
Earlier chapters and later chapters
A preface and a prologue
Acknowledgements and an epilogue
Life is a horror story
And a comedy
And a tragedy
And a love story
We are characters in their stories
The nerdy sidekick
Or the bully that made them stronger
The first crush
Or the love they never expected
Or maybe we are the minor characters
Who don't say much
Hardly anything at all
We don't make a dent
Or even a scratch
But we have our stories
Our tragedies, our comedies
Our romance novels and our mysteries

People
We aren't books
But we're pretty similar
