Young Writers Workshop: Dave Johnson, Contemporary Poetry

In this ongoing series, young writers are invited to join notable writers in exploring different genres.

In honor of National Poetry Month, poet and playwright Dave Johnson will lead a discussion of contemporary poetry and encourage participants to write their own.

Dave Johnson is a Lecturer at Yale University, a Visiting Faculty member of the MFA Program at The New School University, and an Instructor at The Cooper Union School of Art. He teaches with Poets House and in the nationwide Poetry in The Branches Public Library Initiative. He is the author of Marble Shoot (Hummingbird Press/Wake Forest University), and the editor of an anthology of poems, Movin’ (Scholastic/Orchard Books).
