Workshop: Book Binding in the Age of Print

Learn some of the fundamental book-binding materials and structures from 15th- through 20th-century books in the Library’s collections. Team-taught by Conservator Christina Amato and Special Collections Librarian Erin Schreiner, participants in this session will get an up-close look at a range of binding types, from the work of highly skilled artisan binders to cheap, handmade, and industrial book coverings from Europe and the United States.
