So high, but why?
From what I see, how could it all fit?
I mean, it is just an island.
So many people visiting and living.
How could land that is floating on a body of water, hold all the weight?
Have you ever thought about that?
Well, I have.

Want to eat?  Let’s meet.
From what I see, there’s a Starbuck’s on every corner.
I mean, how much coffee could a person drink?
Have you ever thought about that?
Well, I have.

How ‘bout a show?  Let’s go.
From what I see, the curtains are always going up.
I wonder how many claps are applauded in a day?
Have you ever thought about that?
Well, I have.

Snow or rain?  Hop on a train.
From what I see, in the world underground, there are millions of people,
but there is always room for one more.
Hold the door!
How many Metrocards are swiped each day?
Have you ever thought about that?
Well, I have.

Day or night, take a bite.
From what I see, this is my city.
If you don’t live in it, what a pity.
How does one live in the center of hubbub?
I am sure you have thought about that.
Well... I haven’t.
