Out in the meadow
2023 3rd & 4th Grade Poetry Winner
Out in the meadow, a perky bumblebee flies,
Out in the meadow, a beautiful orange sunrise.
Quiet and peaceful,
tranquil, oh so blissful.
Out on the green grass, a restless rabbit hops,
And a tired farmer stoops, to inspect his crops.
Ancient trees seem so content,
Patiently oozing a splendid scent.
Out in the garden, flowers of all colors bloom,
No shouting, no fighting, no doom, no gloom.
Let’s copy nature wisely,
It is so lovely and lively.
Out in the ocean, a glowfish glows,
A tired river rests, as it finally flows.
The ocean is so vast,
It holds keys to our past.
Shimmering in the moonlight above
Or the lost treasures below?
Out in the blue sky, clouds gently float by,
Out in the blue sky, a flock of birds fly.
Bright, beautiful and warm,
The opposite of a storm.
Out in the meadow, I sit still and think,
I don’t want to lose this, and so I will not blink.
