The Costume Copycat, a Halloween Reading, ages 5 and older
Just once, Angela wants to outshine her big sister on Halloween. But
Bernadette always has the best costume. What can Angela do? In this
event, author Maryann Macdonald will read her book and talk about writing
and publishing it. Please wear a costume to get into the Halloween spirit. This
event is $5 per child.

Al Capone Does My Shirts, Family Book Discussion, Grades 4-6
When Moose Flanagan's dad becomes a guard at Alcatraz in 1935, Moose has
to try to fit in at school and take care of his disabled sister while
surrounded by murderers, mob bosses, and other convicts, including the
notorious Al Capone. On Alcatraz, hilarious trouble is never far away. Parents
and their children are invited to join Children's Librarian Carrie Silberman
for a discussion of this Newbery-honor historical novel.
