Speed of Life is the heartbreaking, heartwarming story of a girl who thinks her life is over, when really it’s just beginning. The New York Times Book Review calls it “perceptive, funny, and moving.”

Meet Library member author Carol Weston as she reads from Speed of Life, which the New York Times Book Review calls “perceptive, funny, and moving.” A frequent Library writing teacher, she will also share insights, rejection letters, and advice for writers of all ages.

Carol Weston is the author of the Ava and Pip series and the Melanie Martin series as well as Girltalk. She has been an advice columnist for Girls’ Life since 1994, and her advice for all writers is to recognize that first you write, then you rewrite, and rewrite, and rewrite.

Children's and Young Adult programs are generously funded by Richard Peck.
