Our Newest Online Resource: Zinio for Libraries

Monday, March 14, 2016

The newest addition to our collection of online resources is Zinio for Libraries, a “digital newsstand” that allows Library members to download and read a collection of current, popular magazines on a computer or portable device. Zinio is easy to use, and it only takes a few minutes to create an account. Click here to get started. A link to our Zinio page can also be found on the Library's Electronic Resources page.

The Library's collection includes the current issue and one year of back issues of The Atlantic, The Economist, Harpers, The New York Review of Books, New York Magazine, The Paris Review, Poets & Writers, Utne Reader, and Vanity Fair

Magazines are available to browse and download wherever there is an internet connection. After you have downloaded the Zinio for Libraries reader app to a mobile device, you can read your downloaded magazines anytime, anywhere—no internet connection is necessary. There are no holds, no checkout periods, and there is no limit to the amount of material you can check out to your account.

If you have any questions, please ask a staff member at the reference desk or e-mail help@nysoclib.org

The Library’s growing e-book collection and list of online resources, now including Zinio, makes it easier than ever for members to use the Library even when their day takes them far from 79th Street. But don’t stay away too long—we still have approximately 200,000 volumes in our open stacks, a full events schedule, splendid reading and writing rooms, and expanded hours for your convenience.
